Probably the least understood offense of all, by prosecutors. Racketeering requires specific predicate acts which are felonies all committed in the structure of an enterprise. However, the enterprise itself need not be illegal. These are very complex criminal matters, which I have defended and which require an extraordinary amount of technical knowledge and understanding to combat the prosecution. A racketeering charge is not a glorified conspiracy, indeed there can be a conspiracy to commit racketeering. These require considerable expertise and experience to defend.
